When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Favors Depot holds the privacy and security of our site visitors in the highest regard. The following paragraphs explain what kind of information is gathered on our site and how that information is used.
What’s collected and what’s not?
You can visit our site without telling us who you are or revealing any personal information. While IP addresses (the Internet address of a computer) are logged to track a user’s session, the user remains anonymous. Tracking IP addresses gives us an idea of which parts of our site users are visiting and how much time is spent there. We do not link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable. This means that a user’s session is tracked, but the user is anonymous. This only changes if you create an account or place an order since you are now linking your ip address to your information submitted. The user’s browser also lets us know the type of computer and operating system being used. We do not track a session on purpose. Any website you visit on the Internet tracks you through your IP Address as you go from page to page.
We hold secure the email addresses and information of those who contact us or purchase from us, and those who are our business associates.
How is email information used?
Email addresses are used to send information that is requested or to confirm or verify orders only. We do not sell, rent, disclose or loan our email database to any entity. Third party payment services such as Amazon Pay or PayPal have their own policies regarding your email address that you can find at their websites.
How do I remove my name from mailing lists?
We do not send unsolicited email of any kind, except answers to requests for information. If you are an affiliate or distributor of our products you will receive occasional updates or other information we feel is important. If you create an account you have the option to subscribe to newsletters, new product notifications or changes in current products. You can disable this in “My Account”.
Is supplied financial information retained?
We do not retain any financial information used for order processing. If you place your order online we do not see your financial information. PayPal, Stripe, or Amazon, all third party merchant processors, processes your credit card transaction and sends us the response (approved/denied), that’s it. No card information is stored.
What about phone numbers?
We request a phone number in case we need to contact you about your order or inquiry. However, this information is entered into our personal customer database only. We do not sell, rent, disclose, or loan our list of customer phone numbers to any individual or entity, nor any other information about our customers, business contacts or clients. Additionally, many delivery companies, eg. UPS, require a valid phone for the shipping of packages we send or next day letters in case they need to contact you regarding a delivery problem.
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
